Abdullah Gül University Integrates Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2019 !

The Abdullah Gül University (AGU) ranked among the best universities (101-200) in the latest Times Higher Education International Ranking.

The international higher education rating agency Times Higher Education (THE) announced the results of its University Impact Ranking 2019 on April 3rd 2019.

In this new ranking, which evaluated over 500 institutions from 75 countries and which is based on United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)*, AGU was ranked as part of the 101-200 most impactful universities, and the youngest university in the Top 200.

Reflecting the great emphasis placed by AGU on “Societal Impact”, the most important mission of contemporary and innovative universities, AGU achieved spectacular success, particularly in the following 3 categories:

  • Sustainable Cities and Communities, where AGU ranked 4th worldwide
  • Climate Action, where AGU was placed 32nd
  • Reduced Inequalities, ranked 58th

Alongside AGU, other Turkish Universities also performed well in the ranking. Özyeğin University ranked 72nd, Hacettepe University 87th and Koç University 92nd. Ankara University and Boğaziçi University are also listed in the 101-200 range.

The first edition of the University Impact Ranking includes metrics based on 11 of the United Nations SDGs. AGU topped the table as best Turkish university in 4 of them, including in the Quality Education category.

This major accomplishment will serve as a milestone on AGU’s road to achieving its key missions: “Seek solutions to global challenges and developing citizens able to positively impact our global societies”.
