We are sad that the 4-day NAFSA event is now over, but exhilarated by its overall success!
Our AGU representative team, composed of our Provost, the Vice-Dean of the Internationalization Committee and the Advisor to the Rector on Internationalization, took part in the annual NAFSA Conference and Expo, which this year took place in Boston, MA, and welcomed thousands of visitors from around the globe.
NAFSA, the Association of International Educators, organizes conferences every year in order to bring together and create networking opportunities – which will then blossom into partnerships and collaborations – for professionals and experts in the field of international education.
The Abdullah Gül University (AGU) joined the 2015 NAFSA Conference and Expo, for which the chosen theme was New Horizons in International Education, as a member of the Turkish Pavilion.
The objective for these country pavilions is to gather the best universities and to join forces in order to represent their country and its institutions on the global education market. For the representation of Turkey, AGU was joined by Bilkent University, Sabancı University, METU, and many others.
In the course of the event, the AGU stand drew many visitors, who wanted to know more about the University’s project, as well as its vision, mission and objectives, and who showed great interest in collaborating on a multitude of projects (student and staff exchanges, social development projects, joint study programs, etc.).
Two AGU attributes were particularly interesting to them:
- The Abdullah Gül University’s very detailed vision and, as a 3rd Generation University, its will to empower youth (through knowledge and skills) for a long-lasting positive impact on society, as well as its approach focusing on Education, Research and Societal Impact.
- The fact that all AGU’s programs are taught 100% in English and that the University’s campus is becoming a real multicultural hub, attracting numerous international students and professionals.
Our University was offered the services of many companies and connected with universities ranked in the Top 500 worldwide, interested in creating partnerships with AGU in the near future. Advanced projects were discussed with many European universities willing to collaborate within the framework of the Erasmus+ Program, as well as with representatives of East Asian and North-American universities.
Our AGU representatives also met with local start-up companies and offices of Turkish private and governmental institutions located in the United States.
AGU’s participation in the NAFSA Conference and Expo 2015 in Boston was very fruitful: the University organized and took part in many high-level meetings that will have a significant impact on its future international development.
